I am a patient of doctor custers. I had my surgery on 1/27/03. I think
you have all you need for the appointment. He will let you know at that
visit if you are a good canidate for lap or not. He will tell you what to
expect and answer any questions you have to answer. He is so nice. Have
you gone to a support group meeting yet? I know they want you to go to
atleast one meeting and its really nice. You get to meet post ops and
other preops, you can get to know another preop and do a buddy system if
you want (if you dont have surgery on the same day). I thought it was very
informative, postops that were in the hospital from having their surgeries
were there to talk to preops if they wanted and would answer any questions
they have and tell about their experiences. They have a clothing exchange
there also. They have a couple nurses that had the surgery speaking to the
group and going over issues of post-ops. Well, good luck to you.
