Question:
Is there any yearly nationwide conference for post ops?

If not let's put one together. I think we could make it pretty inexpensive. I would love to go to a conference with thousands of post ops from all over the country. We could set up some speakers, and I am sure that we could get sponsors. Does anyone else like this idea?    — Linda A. (posted on August 23, 2002)

A convention sounds fine. Would a cruise be feasible for lots of members? I hear the food is great! ha Or Las Vegas which I personally do not care for or New England Fall bus tours maybe- I wanna go.

I think this is an awesome idea and I would definitely be interested in meeting and speaking with other "brave souls" who turned their lives around. I'm also sure there would be plenty of vitamin manufacturers and food companies that would be willing to get in on the action. - Mike

Well, please add my name to any mailing list that is interested in getting post-ops together! I don't care if it's a cruise or a cup of coffee get together. I just want to be in a room with others and listen to their stories. I get so much hope and confidence and inspiration from them. So hopefully some inspired soul will put something together. I'm IN!!! And whomever said that there would be a lot of interest from various food & vitamin companies is right! Just think of all the protien drink vendors it would draw. (Just wish one of them would come up with something decent.)

I would LOVE to meet up with all of you! A cruise sounds fantastic, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to attend since I will be paying for my WLS (the 10k deductible) for the next 42,000 years. I would definitely get to a convention on land! It would be even better if it were in the South or at least on the east coast. Please let me know, regardless of where it will be!!!! Hey, I checked out that website (http://wlsconvention.com) and it is in TN! I could get there with no problem. It's for Labor Day weekend 2003. Anyone interested, go there! I live in SC and could get up a car pool or something....(By the way, I oops'ed- my deductible is not 10k, but my portion after insurance pays will be that. I'm a doofus!)
