Question:
HELP ME. I was told today BCBS no longer approves WLS after 1/1/02

I have BCBS health options of Fla., and i was notified in my support meeting today that as of 1/1/02, BCBS will not approve any WLS. Does any know about this, and if you do can you be grandfathered in if you started your pre approval testing in July of this year?    — Tica G. (posted on December 8, 2001)

I've heard that too. But, I heard that all insurance carriers in Florida will discontinue bariactric surgery regardless of necessity starting in 2002. I hope we're wrong!
