Question:
Has anyone had thier dr order the endoscopy AND the colonoscopy?
What happened is there was some inconsistencies in my blood count...one read ok and the other read low..borderline anemic. So now he wants to check for any bleeding internally. I am TERRIFIED to have either test done and I am actually considering NOT having the surgery because of this. He said that I would be sedated BUT i have this huge fear of these tests. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. : ( — [Anonymous] (posted on August 10, 2001)

I also had both done, on the same day and it wasn't bad at all. I was
sedated and hardly remember either one. I have had three colonscopies but
that was my first endoscopy. Don't let these two little tests scare you
away. Good luck to you

Hi, I had both done at the same time last year and I was petrified, I
actually ran out of the OR in my gown LOL what a sight, but they put me to
sleep, and when I woke up, did not feel a thing, actually I was singing,
(Ifeel good I knew that I would) LOL so dont worry about it, oh also, they
removed a polop, I had no pain or even a sensation that they were there.
Good Luck DO IT!!!!!!

I've had about 14 upper endoscopies, several before WLS. BAD stomach, BAD.
Never had a c-scope, but just sched myself for one voluntarily (I'm old
enough & there are some family things coming down to me). I figure,
except for the prep, it'll be as nuisance level as the EGD's. No pain,
someone has to drive me & I'll be annoyed at having to "sleep it
off". Believe me, if I'd just call up and ASK for it, you gotta know
that it is NOTHING. The worse part is the IV. You're just ga-ga for 30-45
min and then, there you are, wondering when they are going to start.
