Question:
What can cause my sugery to be cancelled?

My date looms ever closer and I am so excited. My pre-op is the day prior to the surgery and my fear is that something will come up to cancel it (Murphy's Law since I have made so many preparations and all). I meet with a pulmonologist the day prior and again with the surgeon. Has anyone had any conditions that crept up to cause cancellation?    — Poppy W. (posted on December 30, 2000)

Poppy, My surgery was postponed twice for surgery scheduling problems. I thought they were trying to make me crazy. Unfortunately though that is the way it is with hospitals. The unpredictable can happen. I am scheduled for surgery on Jan.3rd.I pity the fool who tries to cancel it again!
