Question:
I received approval for a consult and two follow ups; does the surgeon have to submit
for approval next? Do I have a consultation and then what? What are the follow ups for. Do you normally have three visits prior to surgery? Then the surgeon requests approval? I don't know how this really works. All I know is I have a copy of the APPROVED: 1 CONSULT/2 FOLLOW UPS that is all it says, and I faxed it to the Surgeons office, and they are supposed to callme to make an appt???? — Patricia C. I was approved for 5 visits between now and the end of the year. The first
visit is a consultation and any visit thereafter would be considered a
followup. Your surgeon's office will go on to request approval for
surgery. After surgery you will need more than 2 visits. Odds are once
the 2 followups are used up you will need to get approval for more. If
they approve the surgery, you shouldn't have trouble with getting more
followups. Good Luck
