Question:
Why not freeze soup?
Ok, Vickie, you can probably answer this one, but I'll take any answers I can get. I hear so much about people having to throw away food cuz they can't eat that much. My husband is a sticklier for wasting food. So, I was wondering, why can't we freeze soup individually in ice cube trays, and then just freeze them in freezer bags? Then we can just pop one in the microwave and enjoy. Plus, probably just the right size for a small meal. — allendepot1 (posted on May 25, 2000)

During the "full liquid" phase after surgery, I put my favorite
soups in the blender and froze the left-overs. Ir teally helped to add
some variety to an otherwise bland menu. Hint: you might want to stay away
from soups with a high bean content due to the risk of uncomfortable gas.
Good luck!

Hi Lynn
Where is Dunsmier, CA? Northern California, the name sounds familiar. I
was raised in Castro Valley CA, (near Hayward CA,)and Concord CA. Both in
the San Francisco bay area...East Bay near Oakland. I had my surgery 5
years ago in Washington DC. I now live in Waldorf Maryland. I have lost
145+ pounds, have gone from a 24 1/2 dress to a 14-16. I am extremely
happy. When i first had the surgery I saved everything in small plastic
containers, in the refrigerator and freezer.
I had little bits and pieces everywhere in the kitchen. Most i did not eat
again, but I felt I was not wasteing it. Periodically I would do a massive
throw out, when no one was at home. I still bring food home from
restarunts, now, I often use the meat for a next day meal for my husband
and my self. I call it the dinner that keeps on giving...Good luck in the
future. It is a trip I am glad I did not miss.

You can freeze soup in ice cube trays or whatever. I went to Sams Wholesale
Club and bought 2 oz. plastic containers with lids (like you might get
condiments in at some fast food type places) and froze lots of things so I
could either take them with me to friends, or so I could just pop them in
the microwave quickly. But do be aware your tastes may really, really
change. Give what you no longer like to that thrifty hubby of yours LOL.

This is excellent. During my recent revision, one of the girls from our
local group made up some scrumptious soup and gave me a bag of "soup
cubes" to get me through my clear liquid phase. It was WONDERFFUL!

I missed this question ..Guess I was outside playing LOL You can freeze
soup in ice cube trays or whatever. I used the 2oz plastic containers I
bought ahead of time from tupperware with lids (also save baby food jars
with lids for this the small ones are perfect) I would just pop them in
the microwave quickly heat and enjoy. *Hint* On the ice cube trays be sure
and cover with plastic wrap or it will take on the flavor of what ever
is in the frig. Also date your trays or jars to use up in 5-7 days.
