Question:
Problems from being overweight???
Here's my problem...I have Medical Mutual of Ohio. They say that weight loss surgery is not covered unless you are twice your ideal weight. I am. They also say you have to have medical problems caused my being obese. High blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea. I have none. Now what? I don't have any medical problems as of yet. What are they gonna make me do? Wait until this fat causes me to die? Or maybe wait until I have a problem before they help? Has anyone out there had their surgery coverd by MMO without having any of those health problems? I have been obese all my life. It's not somethng that just recently happened. I am 20 years old. — Maxine C. (posted on April 24, 2000)

Hi. Might dig deeper... asthema, back pain, muscle spasms, clinical
depression. Think back to your personal medical history and see if you can
connect any of it!

All it took for me to get my approval was being over 100lbs overweight and
knee joint pain and feet swelling. i do not have any other medical
problems "yet". talk with your doctor, and if you arent happy
with his answer, talk with another doctor. they know all the
"buzz" words to use with the insurance!
