Question:
What kinds of pains should you be feeling with RNY ulcer?
I have been having severe pain in my stomach for the past three weeks. It seems to occur any time I eat or drink. It can also occur whether I eat or not. My doctor is treating it like an ulcer, however medication is not assisting in any manner. I have tried Losec, no success, and now have been put on Pantoloc. Has anyone else suffered similar conplaints? — Susan C. (posted on December 2, 1999)

I suffered with a hernia in 1998 and my symptoms were; it felt like I was
swallowing past a "lump in my throat" every time I ate or drank.
Also, I had acid reflux very bad. The doctor put me on Previcid and it
helped tremendously. I have had to have a revision done since though
because the hernia caused my staple line to break down. Good Luck!!

Have they done a scope to see if it is an ulcer? I had a bleeding ulcer. my
pains were in my belly, ribs and back. It took the doctors since JUNE to
figure out what was wrong with me. Took me to vomit blood and rushed to the
ER by rescue for them to find it. PLease be a pain in their butts and get
the answers you need.
