Question:
I have already met with my surgeon, Dr Rout in Gainesville at Shands. Before I can
start the approvals process, I have to have a psych evaluation by their psychologist, Dr Michael Perri, also in gainesville, to make sure I am "ready for surgery". I am wondering what kind of questions are asked and what kind of tests are given? thank you for all responses. — tipdawg1 (posted on October 28, 1999)

TIFFANY:
MY ANSWER IS YES I MET WITH DR.ROUT IN GAINSVILLE AND I
DID NOT AGREE TO THE FULL (LENGHTY EVALUATION) THAT I HAD
I FEEL THE OUTCOME WAS HORROWIC.TOO MUCH PAPERWORK (QUESTIONS) WERE ASKED
AND DEPENDING UPON YOUR SCORE THATS
HOW YOU GET APPROVED FOR SURGERY AND YU HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO HEAR
IF YOU PASSED. i WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY
WOULD LIKE ME TO GO THREW A GROUP SESSIONS (6) BEFORE THE
SURGERY TO SEE IF i CAN HANDLE MY NEW LIFESTYLE. WHEN YOUR
NOT PREPARED TO DO ALL THIS IT CAN BE VERY STRESSFUL AND A
LONG LONG PROCESS AND WAITING TIME.
