Question:
Is there a Oklahoma Doc that will take Oklahoma Medicad??

I have Oklahoma Medicad and i can't find a doc that will take it i have over a 58% BMI and i have been searching for a doc to do the BYPASS. Does anybody know of anybody in Oklahoma or the surrounding areas that take it? Please let me know.    — Tammy W. (posted on May 5, 2005)

Tammy, The problem is the Medicaid in Oklahoma will not pay for any weight loss surgery. It is not a covered benefit. The only way that Medicaid will pay anything is if you have Medicare as primary and Medicaid secondary and then they have to pay because Medicare pays and they are primary. Dr. Philip Floyd in Edmond is an excellent surgeon that does take Medicaid secondary to Medicare.
