Question:
Is it okay to take Lactaid occasionally after surgery?
I know this will should stupid to some. I am lactose intolerate now since surgery. I do take extra calcium supplements, but I miss yogurt. I have tried Lactaid once to see if it would help. I could tolerate milk when I took it. I would love to eat some yogurt occasionally, but worry about taking the lactaid. Can we occasionally take it, and if so how often to be on the safe side? — june22 (posted on April 28, 2004)

I became lactose intollerant AFTER surgery ... I dont do milk but yogurt,
cheese, cottage cheese doesnt seem to be a problem. Also the carbo
solutions (same thing as lactaid) is good too and HIGHER in protein. Go
ahead and try the yogurt (the sugar free kind) Im sure you'll do fine...

I also became Lactose intolorant after surgery. I use Lactaid milk and take
a Lactaid pill before cottage cheese or yogurt and it works great...Good
Luck
