Question:
ANYONE KNOW OF A PCP WHO WILL GIVE REFERRAL FOR SURGERY?

My pcp that I have seen for last 5 years will not give referral for surgery.. so I am looking for another pcp.. if anyone knows of any pcp in the Knoxville Tennessee area or surrounding towns,that WILL support and give referrals, PLEASE let me know!!?? Does your ins. require a referral to a surgeon? Mine didn't and a lot don't. Find out for sure if you even need a referral. my pcp didn't even know about my surgery till I was three months post op. I didn't tell him because I knew he would be against it.

I had to change insurance and therefore, change doctors. I called the surgeons office and asked for a name.

Many insurance companies do not require a PCP referra so check that out first. And if they do, find a good WLS surgeon and ask for a referral from them. You could also go to Find a peer at the top of the website page and search in Tennessee and E-mail those who have had surgery to find out who their PCP is.
