Question:
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?
YAY!!! Wyoming Voc. Rehab. finally approved my surgery. So I guess I'm well on my way. I guess I really should not be complaining. But, it seems like things are taking forever. I got approved on Dec 3. But, my next appt. with Voc. Rehab is not until Dec. 30. I still have not had a consult with a surgeon. I know that it takes a while to get into one. And then who knows how long it will be after that until I can actually have the surgery. I'm just concerned right now because my I am unable to work right now. I just ran out of unemployment. AND I AM DYING to get back to work! I hate not working. But, unfortunately I won't be able to go back to work until after I have surgery and after the 6 to 8 week recovery time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed up the process? — Stephany G. (posted on December 14, 2003)

I am sorry I don't know how to help except maybe call and have them set up
a consult for you. Most people I know have their consult first and then
wait on approval. Some surgeons have a very long waiting list and then
usually a bit of a wait for a surgery date after consult. Sometimes the
process can take anywhere from just a few months up to a few years
depending on where you live. I would try to get an appt with the surgeon
asap. Good Luck!

THE ONLY THING I CAN SUGGEST IS TO KEEP CALLING THE OFFICE AND ASK IF THEY
HAVE HAD ANY CANCELLATIONS? PEOPLE CANCEL APPTS ALL THE TIME. MAYBE YOU
WILL GET LUCKY. GOOD LUCK
