Question:
Hi, i want to know what i can do to get off these last 20lbs

Im will be 9 months post-op on the 25th of november, but i want to be at my goal weight, which is 160lbs my goal, my dr's goal for me is 150lbs , i think that is to small for me. Is there anything else i can do to get off these last 20lbs. Right now, im on the low carb high protein regime, but it is getting boring, and i snack often, but on good stuff, cheese sticks, pork skins, sunflower seeds. I drink all of my water minimum of 64oz. I can stand to do more exercise though. I did a hour on the treadmill on sunday, but im not faithful to it.I will say i have had my bout with carbs as u can read in my profile, so PLEASE don't go there. Thank u all in advance for your answers 260/180/160    — sexysag37 (posted on November 3, 2003)

I am 9+ months post op with 10 or less pounds to goal and the bottom line is that it is just WAY slower when you get to the end. I now lose 3-5 pounds a month. Usually closer to 3 than 5. Are you still losing at all? If yes then don't worry about it and accept the fact that it may take a few months to get that last 20 off. If the answer is no I would suggest that you keep a food diary for a few days and see exactly what you are eating and it's calorie content. It is so easy for me to snack my way past my calorie limit for the day and I don't notice it until it is too late. Keeping a diary keeps me very aware of exactly what I am doing. I also have found that being this close to my goal makes me desperate to get there but at the same time I am so much more comfortable with my body now that I also feel like there is no rush. I waffle between the two feelings and it is wierd but if I do what I am supposed to it will come off. SLOWLY but it will.

Hi Rita, While I can't offer advice on how to get that last bit of weight off, I can tell you that you are not alone. I am in the same boat. When month 6 arrived, my weight loss stopped. Now I am in month 8 and it has started moving again but it is realllll sloooww. My Doc's answer is to burn more calories than I take in, so either I have to excersize more or reduce my caloric intake. I shouldn't go below 900 calories though. If I do my body will think it's in starvation mode and won't burn anything. 283/200/175 Best wishes -
