Hi Rose, sorry about your weight gain, I know that can be frustrating. I am
1 year post-op and still slowly losing, so I'm not answering from
experience. But I have heard many times that after a person has reached
their goal or their body has stabilized that often people will gain about
10lbs. And it's normal to fluctuate a few lbs post-op pretty much all the
time. So b/c it was only 12lbs. and not 30, I'm wondering if this is what
happened with you. But it's great you caught it in time, i think upping
your protein will help alot. Just get back to basics, protein first, 64oz
water and some exercise and hopefully you'll lose that weight again in no
time! Goodluck to you :-)

I need to get my glasses checked, cause I swore I read you gained 121
pounds. I felt really bad for you. But as I look closer, I see that
that's a l not 1. Now, phew, I'm really relieved. I got scared for
myself. I have no answers for you as I'm only 7 wks post-op, just thought
you would get a chuckle. Good luck!

Rose, I am trying to maintain now and eating more things now. Some things I
know I shouldn't like sweets! I recently read where Carnie Wilson had put
on 7 pounds and her doctor reminded her to go back to the basic things that
kept weight off. Which included eating protein first, 64 ounces of water
and exercising 20 minutes a day. I don't want to be a slave to the scale,
but I always remember after losing weight before WLS, that the weight would
come back without me ever knowing it! I think keeping track of slight
weight gains and addressing them when they do come up is wise.

Rose, I am 15 months post-op and I have to weigh myself daily to ensure
that I don't gain more than a few pounds before I turn it around. Over the
past few months it has happened to me a few times where I can gain up to 3
pounds. The good thing is that I catch it before it turns into 5-10 or
more. Even with a 3 pound gain, I can feel it-kinda a sluggish feeling
like I do not want to exercise, just laze around. Glad to hear that you
are back on track with water and protein.
