Question:
I need to find Ins policy @ decent price that covers WLS
I personally have insurance and am having my surgery in 13 days. My sister-in-law has been wanting this surgery for about 4 years now, but doesn't have insurance due to her owning her own business. I'm having a hard time finding resources to find a decent priced insurance company to purchase a policy through that will utimatly cover WLS. She plans on keeping this policy as long as she owns her business but would like the help from an insurance company in paying for WLS. Can anyone offer any help? — jovialkiki (posted on April 17, 2003)

I hope someone here will post something positive and helpful for you. I'd
like to hear it too. My experience with trying to find an individual
policy has been unsuccessful. They refuse me coverage based on weight
alone. I never thought it would difficult to find an individual policy but
it turns out that the only policy I can get on is due to a mandate by my
state that they have to offer a high risk pool policy. Its very
disheartening. I'm in the same situation as your sister-in-law. I do home
health and as such am considered an independent contractor (with no
insurance).

I also was in a search for a decently priced insurance company. I hate to
say this but I never found one in 2 years. I had insurance but it had an
obesity exclusion in it. I have now decided to go to Dr. Aguirre the total
cost is $6900 that is for the hospital stay, the surgery, and all Dr.s
fees. Feel free to email me [email protected]
