Question:
Does Insurance pay for b12 injections yet? I have bc/bs
My red and white blood counts are low due to taking other meds and wls, I have a script that I have not filled, but I was wondering if insurance pays for b12 yet, it is $18.00 a shot, or can we give ourselves our own and it is cheaper? thanks Debra Holsomback wls 10/2000 from 253 to 125 from size 22 to 6/7 :) — peaceangel58 (posted on December 17, 2002)

Hello, I give myself injections every month.. I'm not sure if your
insurance covers it or not.. If you don't have any luck with that method
you can purchase sublingual b-12 pills... They disolve under your tongue..
You can purchase them at most health food stores or Trader Joes if you live
near one..Very reasonable price.. Get 100 I think for about $8.00.. Hope
this helps

I got a prescription for B12 injections and I plan on giving them to
myself. For a 30 month supply it was 3dollars and some change at Walmart
Pharmacy,

I inject myself. And I am The Queen Wimp with needles. The 30 dose vial
was $7 without ins, $3 with. Needles are 4/$1 at Walgreens. It is WAY
cheap to do your own. But be sure to get labs to determine the frequency.
Monthly was not enough for me.

My PCP gives me mine until I get enough courage to do them my self. :)
Insurance pays for it.
