Question:
Problems quitting and re-starting Plaquenil?
I am really concerned about having to go off my meds for lupus. The anti-inflamatory doesn't bother me but the thought of going off the plaquenil scares me. I was diagnosed with lupus and RA 5 years ago and had my own rebirth after being put on plaquenil. I'm going to have WLS regardless but I would like to be prepared. I mentioned my fear to my surgeon and he said not to worry that he has even had lupus patients on IV steroids and they do just fine. Any feed back from lupies would be helpful. — Priscilla A. I too, am on plaquenil. Having surgery on 12-2. I have RA, and
fibromyalgia. My dr. says in the hosp they will give me steroids to help. I
am worried too. If I miss a dose I sure can feel it. I am worried about the
weeks after, feeling bad and recovery from surgery. Dr. said the predisone
should take care of it until I can start meds again.

I have taken Plaquenil since 96, have had a few surgeries since then. I
only didn't take them on the clear liquid day of surgery, day or two after.
Is someone telling you to stop for an extended time?
