Question:
New Florida Medicaid Guidelines?

I just read where Florida Medicaid has new (tougher) guidelines to determine if we are medically necessary as of March 2002 or so. Does anyone know what those new guidelines are? I have a BMI of 76 with co-morbidities of HTN, Type II Diabetes, PE, wheelchair-bound. Do you think I would have trouble qualifying?    — thumpiez (posted on August 15, 2002)

Don't know if you've been given this info or not, but Kepro has now requested from me. Evidence of nutritional counseling with consent to accept and follow through the program. Enrollment in some type of eating disorder therapy program with promise to continue after surgery for optimum success. Psychological support system, both pre and post-operatively.
