Question:
I am thrilled with my weight loss, 11.5 weeks out and 54 lbs gone!

But I have noticed a good bit of saggy skin. Especially on my upper thighs and upper arms. I see many of you talk about Pilates, will this help?? I would love any suggestions to help me. I don't belong to a gym but I did get a Pilates tape on E bay. I would like to try to go without surgery if I can. My starting weight was 331. Help!! and let me thank you all in advance :)    — Gina D. (posted on July 31, 2002)

Hi Gina, Thought I would post my answer, but I haven't tried Pilates as of yet, I'm about 9 weeks post op and down 56 pounds, I've been working out walking 30-45 minutes a day, doing upper body streght adn weight training, even though I've gained some muscle I still too have loose skin on my thighs and arm area, The muscle helps, but it's still there, I've been trying everything, let me know if pilates works for you, I would die to have this excess skin gone, and would work twice as hard to remove it, Best of luck to you.

I also have not tried pilates. But I was told by my exercise physiologist to wait until I was 3 months post-op to do it or yoga because of potential hernia problems. She went on to warn against any core strength exercises. So no situps for three months. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
