Question:
Does anyone know of anywhere in Louisiana that accepts Louisiana Medicaid?

I am trying to find out information on Louisiana Medicaid covering Bariatric surgery. I have called several hospitals, and have been told that this is something that was recently dropped by Medicaid. I am in the process of getting ss disability, and was told that Medicare would take two years to take effect after I was approved. Can anyone help me on the Medicaid situation. I am on S.S./Disabilty & I got my Medicare after I was on Disabilty for 1yr. It is not two years just one. Once you get your Medicare you will be able to get Medicaid,but the Medicaid you will be able to get won't be like the regular Medicaid it will only cover your prems. & decuctables. No Meds. But once you get your Medicare & Medicaid both ins.will cover the whole surgery & hospital stay. That is what I have now Medicare/Medicaid & both are paying for the whole thing. Medicare pays 80% & Medicaid picks up the rest. Like I said though neither one of these ins.pays for Meds. I got approved for my surgery after only 8 days of my first visit to the Dr. I am going through. Now I am just waiting for the Psy. evaluation results to come back. God I hope nothing goes wrong now everything has been going so good & so fast so far.
