Question:
Has anyone been unable to walk pre-op due to pulm. hypertension and walked ok post-op
I am posting this question for my mom. She just got her surgery date for Lap RNY on June 10th and there is one thing I have been wondering ever since she started this journey. She has pulmonary hypertension and can't walk more than 5 feet without being painfully short of breath or having chest pain. When she goes out of the house she must use an electric scooter to get around. I was wondering if anyone out there has had pulmonary hypertension before the surgery or her same problems and if so how are you doing post op? Thanks in advance. Hi Lisa. I would answer your question with a YES -- SHE WILL BE ABLE TO
WALK post-op! I am doing lots of things at 6-1/2 months post op that I
couldn't do pre-op. Example: I am off three of my meds; blood pressure,
cholosterol and arthritis meds, I don't snore anymore and I am walking
everyday for exercise. She's just around the corner from a happier,
healthier lifestyle. Encourage her all you can.
