I am 3 weeks post-op, on a liquid diet, and every evening I have "reflux" consisting of a nasty tasting/burning clear liquid. It isn't bile but occurs when I burp or have that burning indigestion feeling in my chest. It's woken me up 2-3 times a night for the past 2 weeks or so. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it go on for? Any remedies? My Dr. says it's part of my stomach repairing itself.    — Robert H. (posted on April 28, 2002)

Hi yes this is very common your dr should have given you a script for previcid for it its one capsual a day works great and usually only needed first 4 weeks or so usually takes 2 weeks of meds to cure for ever oxoxoxox call and ask for it good luck bbd

I got this feeling at 2 weeks post op and my doctor said I was probably working on an ulcer. He changed my prescription from Pepcid to Prevacid and I have some liquid that I have to take every six hours. Haven't had the feeling since :o) Good luck to you!
