Question:
What are these spells?
I had two spells over the last week and I really don't know what is causing them. About an hour or two after supper, I became very sick with terrible stomach pain and nausea. The pain was almost unbearable. Then I had diarrhea for an hour and a half which included the stomach pain. During the whole episode, I burped and felt like I was going to vomit. The pain was so bad I thought I would have to go to the ER. The only thing I can think of is that on both days, I tried a few teaspoons of rice. Someone please tell me what these spells are! Martha,
I'm 3 weeks post-op and I'm sure someone told me rice is really hard for
our pouches to digest even long term post-op but please check with your
surgeon or dietician.

That is what happens to me when I dump. Check with your doc and avoid the
rice, you are obviously not ready for it. The pain is terrible but its
your body's way of saying, not yet, Im not ready for whatever it was you
ate.

I have had the same problem with rice. I have tried rice 2
different times and have lost it both times. I think the rice
is to sticky and balls up and is hard to digest.I have learned
that this is one of the foods I don't eat any more. Store
bought bread is an another one I have trouble with . Just keep
tring different things . Sometime you learn the hard way. REX

I have the same problem with rice. But, I'm sorta bull headed and tried it
4 times. It seems to be okay for me if I eat min. rice that I make at
home. But, if it involves chinese food then no way. Not sure if its the
type of rice they use or the msg they put in there food. Everytime it
makes me feel horrible and I end up throwing up. So, now i just don't eat
it. Good luck debbie
