What are these spells?

I had two spells over the last week and I really don't know what is causing them. About an hour or two after supper, I became very sick with terrible stomach pain and nausea. The pain was almost unbearable. Then I had diarrhea for an hour and a half which included the stomach pain. During the whole episode, I burped and felt like I was going to vomit. The pain was so bad I thought I would have to go to the ER. The only thing I can think of is that on both days, I tried a few teaspoons of rice. Someone please tell me what these spells are! (I am three months post-op and everything else is going great!)
