Question:
I have a sharp stabbing pain that is in the center of my abdomin
I will be 3 months post-op on Feb 5th and I have been having sharp stabbing pains directly in the center of my abdomin. This pain started after I ate breakfast this morning and had been going on for 8 hours now. I have no nausea or vomitting and no fever. Thanks Krista — Krista B. (posted on January 28, 2002)

This sounds like my symptons as well. I've been in pain two days but it has
let up some with gas-x pills. I'm thinking it may be the gallbladder? Hope
we both find out what is going on.

Sounds like the same symptoms I was having from
my gallbladder.I just had surgery today to remove it.
Thats just my opinion I would call my DR. tommorrow
and get checked out.Hope you feel better soon.

This sounds exactly like my symptoms recently when I had a small bowel
obstruction. The pain started around my belly button and radiated in a
circle throughout my entire abdomen. I lasted just about 8 hours of the
pain before I went to the ER. I was then told to go Boston to see my
surgeon where I was immediately admitted and had surgery a few days later
after they inserted an NG tube and tried first to pull it out that way. I
think you should go directly to your ER or call your surgeon immediately.
This is nothing to play around with. Better to be safe than sorry.
