Question:
Is it normal to feel nauseous and faint when over-warm?
I'm 6 weeks post-op and I always feel nauseous and kind of faint when I get too warm. It's usually the worst during and after a shower in the morning. I usually feel really disgusting and have to 'rest' for a few minutes to feel better. Will I always be like this, or is it just because I'm only 6 weeks out from surgery? — Christine L. I'm sure it will get better with time, however, you will always have to be
more cautious about the heat. I'm not really sure why, but I was told by
my doctor to be careful.

I'm no doctor by no means, but it happened to me alot after surgery and was
attributed to being dehydrated. Heat zaps your energy/strength so for now-
take luke warm showers/baths and DRINK, DRINK, DRINK.

THe woozy in the shower feeling is a classic sign of dropping low blood
pressure. IF you take BP meds - contact your doc ASAP. Otherwise, you will
have to deal with it, lkike I do. Take cooler, shorter showers, when
squatting or leaning over stand up slowly, etc. It is actually a _good_
thing. Most people get used to it, my BP is genetically pretty low, so mine
is perpetual, and gets better and worse.
