Question:
Has anyone had the surgery at 59 years old, and one kidney?

I know someone who wants to have this surgery, but she lost a kidney to Cancer and shes 59. Does anyone know of a doctor who would approve her? Shes been turned down 4 times already. We live in Alabama. Thanks.    — Robert L. (posted on May 14, 2002)

i have both but i had mild kidney damage..slowly getting worse...take care of yourself and i dont think this should effect you. You will want to be careful not to go super high on the protein from what my dr says can cause more kidney damage...speak to your surgeon or doc about this...I AM 59 however had surg dec 6 and feel wonderful.
