Question:
Really bad menstrual pain after open RNY?
My period has been trying to start for the last 3 days and last night I had TERRIBLE back pain and cramps in front. This happened twice last night and both times lasted for about 20 minutes. And now I haven't had any pain since. Has anyone had really bad cramps during their first period after surgery? Does it get better with every subsequent period? Thanks for your help!! — Christine L. YES! I know exactly what you are going thru. I had my period during
surgery Jan 18. No period at all in Feb. A HORRIBLE double whammy period
middle of march. No period yet this month but hideously bad cramps
yesterday that had me crying on the couch with a heating pad. I have never
had bad cramps during my periods until this last 2 months! Must have
something to do with the surgery and I would love to know what! Hope you
feel better! Love Donna

Estrogen is stored in our fat cells, so when we start losing weight
rapidly, that estrogen gets released into our systems. It can play havoc
with emotions, periods, birth control, etc. for a while until your body
gets re-adjusted to 'normal' levels of estrogen.

I am 4 months out and have had horrible heavy periods since surgery. Thank
God they are only 5 days long, but they are crampy and heavy. This month's
was a little better than the rest, so there is hope!
