Question:
About the 3 meals a day rule....
When does this actually begin? I am 26 days post op & my surgeon still has me on liquids (only because things are getting stuck & I may need an endoscopy). When did everyone start to eat there 3 meals a day? I have been eating 6 mini meals of liquids... should I have already been doing just 3 meals, even though they are only liquid & very small? Thanks! — sgeisendorff (posted on July 23, 2001)

You must do what your doctor suggests you do. Everyone is different , I was
on liquids for 6 weeks not 6 times a day but every half hour! 1oz of liquid
is not a lot. You must follow the diet as perscribed for YOU , your doctor
knows what is best for you. I have met and passed my goal in 14months by
doing what my doctor and the nutriitionalist told me to do, not by folowing
other people. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Each doctor has their own rules they want us to follow. Mine happens to be
of the 3 meals/2 snacks a day camp. I currently eat 3 meals about 3-4 fl
ozs/meal and 2 small snacks a day. My snacks are usually a protein and
SMALL! It's worked for me and has helped me get my water in. Grazing
kills this tool.

I was on a liquid diet for the first four weeks and then semi
solids for two weeks. I still don't eat three meals a day. I eat
5 very small meals/snacks a day. It works for me. I have never
had any problems with nausea, vomiting for feeling too full.
