About the 3 meals a day rule....

When does this actually begin? I am 26 days post op & my surgeon still has me on liquids (only because things are getting stuck & I may need an endoscopy). When did everyone start to eat there 3 meals a day? I have been eating 6 mini meals of liquids... should I have already been doing just 3 meals, even though they are only liquid & very small? Thanks!
