Question:
How long does hair loss usually last?

I am taking my hair vitamins, but so far the hair loss keeps on keeping on, like by the handfuls. Luckily have have lots of hair, but i would prefer to keep most of it. And does anyone know if shorter hair looks better on going bald women??? Right now my hair is shoulder length!    — Nancy S. (posted on April 16, 2001)

Nancy, my hair loss started at 3.5 months, and continued until 8 months. Even starting with thick hair, I thought I was going bald. I have been wearing my hair short for a couple of years, and to be honest, no one except me noticed the hair loss. As to whether short hair looks better? I think it's a personal preference, although it seems that many of the folks here do go to a shorter cut. Don't worry too much. I really don't think there's a lot you can do about the loss, and one day you'll look at your towel after the shower and notice there's not a handful of hair anymore! - Kate -
