option of using a nickname

This site is quie awesome. I can spend hours here. The information at my fingertips is phenominal. I like that all bases are covered, from peers to surgeons. The creators of this site have made a valuable tool for those of out here who are floundering around trying to get the right answers and guildance along the way. It is a must and everyone who is considering surgery should have the opportunity to come here first. The ONLY thing is that I wish I could have an option of adding a nickname for public viewing and leave my full name confidential. If there was just a place to assign a nic once we have created our account with the proper info. Due to the sensitive nature of dealing with obesity, we need this anonymity available. There are a lot of people that only use a nick name and not their full name.

Just sign into your profile and where it has your real name, just go ahead and change it to whatever nickname combo you want. Change away - many of us have. I wish they would change the form so that it advises us when we initially sign up that the names will be used instead of a screen name. Most people assume there is going to be another spot where they can put in a choice of a nickname or screen name, but find out too late that isn't the case. Dina
