Question:
hi all! here's my question..i need opinions if thi is to much or not.
i've been getting overly paranoid lately on how much i've been eating etc etc...the last month has been EXCEEDINGLY rough as my best friend died and i've been getting a bit worked up and self conscious with extra skin etc etc since i've worked so hard but still feel like a giant cow. (counseling..yes i know) anyway, i do have a point bear with me...for lunch lately i've been eating almost an entire packet of that marinated tuna its 5 ounces and usually a realy small salad too, which is basically just lettuce and maybe a few mushrooms and a green olive or two...is this too much? i'm about 18 months post op and have been having a REAL hard time kicking this last 20 pounds! how much ounce wise should we be eating? am i stretching my pouch? anyone else this far out able to eat a whole one? and i do it in about 20 min so its not like i'm dragging it out...thanks. I(i'm a bit of a mess altely i'm sure you can tell) cheers heather — hdziema (posted on July 27, 2004)

Are you getting sick or uncomfortable after you eat. It sounds like it
would be OK but if you get a queasy or a real stuffy feeling of fullness.
If this concerns you go back to shakes to get those last few pounds down.Up
your water and exercise. You should take at least a half n hour to eat. I
do not think you have stretched the pouch yet.

At 18 mo postop thats a very reasonable amount to eat. Remember the salad
part chews to water so it doesn't count.
For the last 20 pounds, first off, I don't know what you weigh but examine
if that is a reasonable goal. If your body is remaining where it is, then
it is comfortable with the amount of calories you are taking in and burning
off. To lose more, no secret, eat less calories, up the water and up the
exercise to burn the calories coming in.

I'm looking at the paper we got in our first consulatation and it says at a
year we are eatting 8 oz a meal. I don't know after that email or call the
nutritionist they are very helpful. I'm paranoid as well i'm almost 8 mths
out. The weigh loss is veryyyyyy slow now. And my emotions were all whacked
so i went on zoloft and it seems to have helped alot. I am sure we are all
self concious about this flabby flab hanging but its better then the huge
size we were before and we are much healthier!! That 20 will come off if u
keep exercising and eat right. That meal looked sensible to me. good luck
and hope u do well. Chin up we are all feeling the same things. Kris
