Question:
15 mos post op and my weight loss is really slow now. That's ok though
because I continue to lose! I bought the new book Fast and Easy by Suzanne Somers and am currently learning her concepts on the Mediterranean way of eating. She says fat is not our enemy but sugar and fat is poison. Excuse my oversimplification because I am only on chapter 1! I am wondering if anyone has tried her program (with a few changes for our small pouches) and what they think? I know, I know, no more diets! But hers is a regiment of healthy eating for life. NOT a diet. She looks fabulous to be 55 years old and appears to be very healthy. What do you guys think about this Somerize program? Thanks, Marilyn in WV — Mylou52 (posted on February 9, 2003)

funny thing, this morning i was thinking how the post op "diet"
the nutritionist gave me reminds me of the suzanne summers diet!! i have
the book along with many other weight loss materials put away safely. my
current food plan stresses protein first, as well as not eating a drinking
at the same sitting. so i think some of the ideas in the book would be
helpful. good luck!

yes, she eats the way the French eat! C'est bon! She advocates many
"rules" of eating that postops must go by, such as not drinking
with meals. She uses "reduction" cooking sauces and red wine and
many spices...I am trying it and my husband loves it! We are not supposed
to mix carbs with fats/proteins and she says it helps with the insulin
response...she also has some really dark Chocolates on her website made
with somersweet and the dark chocolate that is so healthy for our hearts..I
am going to try this for a while
