Question:
Wondering about this machine to measure metabolism...
I was flipping through First magazine last night and I came across an ad for a small device that measures your metabolism. The machine is produced by Healthetech and according to the ad, you breathe into the machine and it measures your metabolism. The machine is called the BodyGem. Has anyone ever heard of this? I just wondered if it was really possible to measure your metabolism with your breath. If anybody knows about this device please enlighten us. Thanks in advance. — Jenny S. I'm not sure about the machine, never heard of it. I do know that your
weight and exercise, etc. plays a part in your metabolic rate, so I don't
know how your breath can calculate it! But someone gave me this site to
measure your BMR: www.caloriesperhour.com I had my rate checked by an RN
and it was about 1550 (meaning I burn that many calories a day), she did it
by checking height, weight, exercise, strength, etc. I did the test on that
site and it said 1490, not far off. So you might want to try that!
goodluck!

I saw an ad on TV for it a couple times the last few evenings. They have a
website but I can't recall the address right off. I have no idea how/if
they work.

I've heard of the contraption, but know nothing about it. I use the
caloriesperhour.com site. It's FANTASTIC!
