Wondering about this machine to measure metabolism...

I was flipping through First magazine last night and I came across an ad for a small device that measures your metabolism. The machine is produced by Healthetech and according to the ad, you breathe into the machine and it measures your metabolism. The machine is called the BodyGem. Has anyone ever heard of this? I just wondered if it was really possible to measure your metabolism with your breath. If anybody knows about this device please enlighten us. Thanks in advance.
