Question:
What causes the stomach to gnaw and growl two hrs. after a meal?
I am not sure if this is an ulcer or not. Eating relieves the gnawing, it's almost like I'm hungry all during the day, after 2 to 3 hrs. of eating. I eat around 3 oz. of food 3X a day, and one snack. This is making me very cranky. Has anyone had an ulcer from the surgery? I only took my meds one month because they hurt my stomach. I am 10 weeks post op. — Jean B. (posted on August 16, 2002)

It sounds to me as if you ARE hungry. I usually get hungry after 2-3 hours
too. Certain foods can move through me all the way in that amount of time.

Yes, I had marginal ulcer after surery. Of course, had regular ulcers
pre-op, to, so I knwo that gnawing thing that can be quieted (for a short
time) by food. It can be very dangerous for us with our tiny pouches, so
please get it checked. They can perforate and that is a very bad deal.
