What causes the stomach to gnaw and growl two hrs. after a meal?

I am not sure if this is an ulcer or not. Eating relieves the gnawing, it's almost like I'm hungry all during the day, after 2 to 3 hrs. of eating. I eat around 3 oz. of food 3X a day, and one snack. This is making me very cranky. Has anyone had an ulcer from the surgery? I only took my meds one month because they hurt my stomach. I am 10 weeks post op.
