Question:
Why are my boobs still big?

I was wondering did anyone else have this problem. I am 3 months and 12 days post op, down 55+ pounds from original weight of 227, now 162. My boobs are still the same size 44DD, are they ever gonna go down? My Dr says that with the weight loss they should go down but I am still not able to shop for a smaller size bra. I am seriously thinking about asking my Dr for a breast reduction. The only one who seems to be happy about my breast staying the same size is my boyfriend, but I am completely unhappy because not only have they not when down in size, they have decided to go south and are hanging to my knees...Please help and give me some advise on how to handle my hanging boobs    — Lovett (posted on July 29, 2002)

Tina, I think it depends on the person whether your breasts will shrink. I've lost 100 lbs. before starting at roughly the weight you did and my breasts stayed the size yours are, where as a friend of mine lost weight at the same time and hers shrank. Is if possible your breast size is genetic? Grandmother, mother, aunts? I had a breast reduction 5 years ago. I'm now a 'C' cup. Good luck.

Sigh. Still a DD here, but went from 46 DD to 38 DD. Plus now they have gone WAY south. (sorry guys for graphics) Like two tube socks with rocks in 'em. But who cares! I'm healthy! I've lost 90 lbs. If yours are so big that they are hurting your back or making bra straps dig into your shoulders, look into reduction surgery. I always sing my little song.... Do your boobs hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow.... :-)

If you can stand it, you may want to wait a little longer. I started at 230 and when I was at 145 I still could wear the same bras I started in, although they were a little loose in the back I still filled out the front. :) The last 15 pounds came off and they deflated. I was so disappointed! I ended up going from a 44/46D to a 36B (ALMOST an A but not quite). It would be a shame to get brand new boobs and have THOSE sag! =0

I am 7.5 mos. post op and have lost just about all my excess weight. I have about 10-15 lbs. more to lose. I have lost inches around, but nothing in my cup size. I was a D and still am. Weird huh?

I am down to 179 and still have the same DD cup size. Although I hope they get smaller I decided to start working out to change their shape. I am REALLY working on my chest muscles and am a lot happier with how my breasts look. I mean serious weightlifting and not just "cute" exercises with weights. If you're interested I could give you some exercises or go to your gym and learn some. Talk to the BIG guys there, not the spandex queens. We're looking to build mass, not tone up. Also as I add muscle to my shoulders, my breasts don't look so out of proportion.
