Hi Donna,
I had Open RNY on 9/13 and have lost 53 pounds to date. I know how
frustrated you are, so am I. I think I need to get in more exercise and
make a conscious effort to drink all my water everyday. I drink two
protein supplements everyday to make sure I get at least 60 grams. I am at
the halfway point, so I think if I can keep up at this pace I should be
where I want to be by next September. I know I want it all off NOW, but am
trying (with difficulty) to be patient. It's funny that people tell me I
look terrific, yet the last time I weighed this amount I was FAT!! Good
luck and keep in touch, we can compare notes.

Donna I know it's frustrating when things are not going how you would like
them to but...I have to say that we have all been there. This too shall
pass. Okay, so you cheated alittle? SO WHAT! tomorrow is another day and
you need to get back on track. We all believe in you because we know
where you will be in another few months. don't let this discourage you.
My suggestion may sound silly but here goes. I adore Richard Simmons
motivational tapes. He just seems so caring (okay alittle corny but
caring) and he really gets me to think about what a good person and
worthwhile person I am. You are too and I promise you this little
"down" period will be over soon and you will be "up"
again. Good luck to you.

Donna, There's lots of us in the same boat!!! I also just hit the 50lb
mark, at 4months. AND I do get all my protein, drink 64+, and exercise 4-5
days /wk...go figure!!! Like Debbi said by September we'll see the results.
That's why I don't set time goals. I'm happy for every ounce I lose, and
have finally accepted the fact that slow is just how its going to be for
me. Hang in there =)

I had surgery on aug 27th. I have lost 53lbs. and haven;t lost an ounce
in almost seven weeks. I have another 30 lbs to go. I am becoming very
frightened that it is just a matter of time until the weight comes back and
I will fail at this. HOWEVER, i have been reassured that the weight loss
is not over, as per the surgeon and nutritionist. I want to believe them,
but I don't.
In reviewing the Q and A list, a multitude of questions have been asked
about less than incredible weight losses after the initial grand losses
{probably due to a certain level of starvation, me thinks}. I think there
needs to be a concerted effort to get the surgeons to LISTEN to what is
being said here. My doc told me on my second post-op visit, "I have
given you the tool. It's up to you what you do with it." !@#$%^&*

Don't feel bad Donna. I am also 4 months out and have only lost 47 pounds.
I started at 289 pounds. I have been increasing my water, trying to get
in more protein and exercising 7 days a week and the scale doesn't budge.
It is very frustrating. I am getting a little bit discouraged. As you can
see, I know exactly how you feel. I guess all we can do is continue to do
what we are doing and we should start losing. Hang in there. I am with
you. :-)
