Question:
If someone tackled me to the floor, and I hit the floor hard, will I be ok?
I had surgery 5 months ago and was just tackled by a 185lb. man and hit the floor hard. I am just worried that I may have hurt something inside. I am at 192lbs., 5'2" he is 185lbs., solid muscle and stands at 5'3". My body aches, but I don't want to go to the hospital. I have not experienced any unusual pain where I had the surgery. What do you think? Thanks! — wildchild (posted on September 20, 2003)

Surgery wise after 5 months you should be fully healed, and OK but he might
have given you a hernia espically if your surgery was open. I do encourage
you to go straight to the hospital and get checked to document any long
term injury. Espically if you were sexually assaulted. If you dont mind me
asking what was going on?

I was cleaning a heavy tall bookcase that started to fall with me attached,
and he reacted by grabbing me off (with a running start) to get me out of
the way and we hit the floor hard, I probably would have had to go to the
hospital or worse if that thing landed on me. Nothing bad.

Glad to hear it was innocent and he was being helpful. Fast thinker too! If
youy feel OK dont worry about it. But get to the hospital if you have ANY
problems. If it occured at work workmemns comp should cover any injury or
missed work, but be sure to report it.
