Question:
How long for B12?
I am taking the B12 Sublingual. I know that your mucas membranes are what absorb the B12 in this process. What I DON'T know is how long does it take? I mean, I put it under my tongue and 3 minutes later it is dissolving and I am swallowing powder. Within 5 minutes I have swallowed the whole thing. So how long SHOULD I be having the B12 IN my acutal mouth? Anyone know?? Thanks!! — Amy S. (posted on September 11, 2002)

Hi... It is my understanding you put it under your tongue and it will
dissolve naturally and that takes care of the absorption. I would think
whatever the components of your saliva would be would determine how long it
takes to dissolve. I've begun using the liquid B12 and place it also under
the tongue and it seems to work equally well. I am doing 1000 mg daily.
My best to you.

I also recommend the liquid b-12. Though I am pre-op, I've had to take it
before and plan on using it post-op. Hadn't even considered the other.
