Question:
Does anyone know if having an Epidural during surgery has long lasting effects?
I had my Open RNY on 8/7/02 and had an Epidural. My question is a little personal, but... Ever since surgery it takes FOREVER for me to arrive at orgasm. It does NOT even feel the same, very deadened. And once I DO have it, it is like this little tiny, 2 second long one that doesn't even feel good. Could this be a longlasting effect of the epidural? I mean, I know it deadens that area.. I don't know what else to think but it is becoming VERY frustrating for me. Now I don't even FEEL like doing anything because it doesn't feel good anymore.. :( — Amy S. (posted on September 2, 2002)

Don't have an answer for you, but, want to give you some KUDOS that you can
even have sex yet. I have no desires yet...can't even think about it and I
have my Open RNY surgery a week after you did (8-15)...Good Luck w/ your
problem, but, I am still impressed with you!

I am not sure if I had an epidural during my surgery (7/23) but, I have
been having the same problem as you. I thought it was just me...so it was
interesting to read this. As, I am building up to it...it feels great...and
then BAM! Not a very good finish. Hard to explain..but I feel very
frustrated too. I am hoping it goes away soon. Good luck to you!
