Question:
Anyone with numbness in both hands?

I am 11 days post-op and ever since the surgery both sides of my hands and pinky fingers are having continuously numbness and tingling. Also both tops of my thighs are the same also. The doctors said the only thing they could think of was I was in surgery for 8 1/2 hrs with my arms out straight like a airplane. Has anyone else experence this. Thank you    — Donna O. B12 deficiency can also make hands and feet numb, but I think it's too early for this to happen. ??? I just found out I have a B12 deficiency, but I am 19 mos. post op.

Hi- I had my first check up last week (3 weeks post-op) and the nurse asked me if I had given myself the B-12 shot yet. When I told her I hadn't she asked if I had experienced any tingling in my hands or numbness. I hadn't, but she scared me straight reminding me of the importance of B-12. Please be sure to take your B-12 if you haven't already, and I would talk to my doctor again. Good luck.

Probably minor nerve damage from being strapped down real tight for surgery. They cant risk us moving at all. Its a common short term affect. In my case it numbed my bum. Unpleasnt it slowly went away over 2 months. Dont worry, its just a nuisance... This is reported here often in thigs, leg backsides and arms. Your normal.

I am 4 mths post op and the numbness and the tingling is just now going away. I do believe it is from the nerves being restricted for so long.
