Question:
I have a bmi of 41.1 and no insurance
I have no insurance or a job for that matter. Me and my husband live off of his SSI which of course is not much. I cant get the state medical card becouse I'm not preagnant, or disabled(yet) or abuse drugs(yes they are stric in PA). I need to know if there are any insurance companies out there that I might be able to afford that would pay for surgury for me becouse I really need some help. I dont yet have any medical problems other then week knees and maybe some arthritis as far as I know but then I havent seen a doctor about any thing becouse I cant afford to. Also My mom has recently been diagnosed with Diabettes and my dad who just turned 50 has already had 2 major heart attacks and a stroke and has had tripple bypass heart surrgury. If any one has any information in PA on what I can do or even a program I can go through that would help me I would be very appreciative. well thanks in advance and please help me. — Lori I. Is there a reason you cannot get a job, that likely would have benefits so
that at a minimum you can get to a doctor and get checked out before
something does become very serious? If you are legitimately unable to work
then you should qualify for disability.

I am wondering, why is your husband on SSI and why are you not working??
The easiest way to get insurance is thru a job, not to mention, food and
money to pay bills, etc. There are plenty of jobs out there that do have
insurance included, either they pay for all the insurance, or take so much
out of your check weekly, bi weekly, monthly, whatever. You say you are Not
disabled (YET) ? Do you think you will becoming disabled anytime soon? At
the age of 22 nothing could hold me back from having a job.......it is so
much fun as well as a great experience and the opportunity to meet new
people and make friends. Besides helping your disabled husband to pay the
bills.

Have you applied for a Medicaid Card, or foodstamp at your local HRS
departmant. I have Florida Medicaid and I was approved with in a couple of
days of the surgeon sending in my request.
