Question:
Will I need a panni or a breast reconstruction after losing wght?
Will I need a panni and/or boob job when I am done losing wt.? I am 5'3" and started at 243 (now am 190, 6 wks out)...Anybody with these stats can you tell me if it will be necessary or will I be essentially 'normal looking'????? — Kimberley E. (posted on February 8, 2003)

I'm 5' 2 1/2 and started out at 240, I am now down to 125 and I had a TT
and a Breast lift/reduction in October when I weighed 145. I'm 43 years
old, so things just didn't go back in place, at least not for me. I'm very
happy with the results, and love the new perky boobs :) Before the
TT/BR/BR I "looked" normal in my clothes, I wore a size 5/6 and
everyone said I didn't need it, but they didn't see me naked... I now wear
a size 3 and some 1's. Good luck, and only you can make the decision to
have any plastic surgery.

I am a horror story with the plastic surgery. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, make sure
you have before and after pic's from the doctor. I am now disfigured and
regreting my plastic surgery. I don't want to "scare" you. What
I want you to do is BE CAREFUL. when you expect to look better and end up
looking worse, it is very emotionally difficult. Good Luck to EVERYONE I
hope you can learn from my experiance. Everyday is a learning experiance.

Hi. As Gail mentioned below, only you can decide what "look" is
right for you. Significant others in your life also play a role in terms
of support for your decision. Jeannine offers good advice as well. See
several surgeons for your consults, look at their pictures, talk to their
former patients if you like, and always verify their credentials. Look ONLY
for docs certifed by "The American Board of Plastic Surgery."

I am 5'2" and started at 250lbs. After 8 months, I now weigth 146 and
am about 15 lbs. from my goal weight. I am 23, and thought being young and
not being heavy for a long time would be on my side, but I don;t think it
is. I think 15 lbs. will do alot for my stomach. I won't get a panni or
TT, too expensive for me and don't have THAT much extra skin. but I am
definately getting a boob job. I look like I have the chest of an 80yr old
woman. Sorry to be graphic! lol I was also a 40H, now a 36DD. SO I will be
getting a lift once I can afford it. But everyone is different, so it's
hard to say. I look great in clothes, with a good bra and wear a size 8,
but underneath I'm not very happy. I was always large chested, so I knew
losing weight would do this to me. Goodluck!
