Question:
What pictures to they take for insurance approval?
I will be going to the doctor in about a month to start on the TT process. What pictures to they take to send to the ins company? Am I completely nude? Do I stay in my underwear? I think I will be in ALL my glory. My wife says they shouldn't be allowed to do that. So what's the answer? — Robby E. (posted on December 13, 2002)

I had my pictures done last Saturday at my surgeon's office. His secretary
did them - she used a polaroid so they don't have to be sent out to be
developed. She took a full frontal view, a profile view and one from the
front with me holding the apron out with my hands. I had no clothes
showing - I had my shirt on but it was raised above the picture area -
pants and underwear were on the floor.
It's embarrasing but what the heck, we've been through so much already
what's a little picture. I'm sure the people at the insurance company get
tired of looking at flabby bellies.

I had a panniculectomy and brachioplasty (armlift) last November. When my
plastic surgeon took the pictures to submit to the insurance company, he
used a digital camera, then scanned the pictures, cropping my face for
confidentiality. I was given a little thong-like bikini panty to wear
(they had blue for girls, and black for guys)....the office calls it a
photo-panty. He took full-frontal and side pictures. I truly wanted to
wear a bag over my head, but it was over it just a minute or two, and in
the long-run was worth every second to get the final results of a great
plastic surgery experience. Be brave...it'll be OK :-)

It depends on the surgeon. I had 3 consultations, 2 with men PS, 1 woman.
The men had me standing stark nekked for the pics, the woman had me
discretetly covering my private parts...interesting, huh? BTW, I chose the
woman PS, not because of the pics, but because I really liked her and her
work.
