Question:
Can I drink water with protein to get more in?

I am really concerned about my protien intake.I'm 3 weeks post op and not getting nearly enough.Cheese and peanut butter and eggs agree with me, but I'm still not getting even close to 60 grams a day.Protein shakes were okay at first, but now even looking at one disgusts me.Meat is too heavy still.Protein bars I can take in small quantities but only if I drink with it.Is it acceptable to drink with your meals if youre trying to eat more?I'm absolutely exausted, and thinking maybe lack of protein is one reason.    — Stephanie H. I'm still pre-op, but I know others have raved about this stuff. It's called nature's best perfect zero carb isopure. It's a crystal light like drink, but not as sweet as crystal light. It has 40g of protein in a 20 oz. bottle. It comes in individual glass bottles, and you should be able to get it at GNC. You can order it online too, one place I know of is performancenutrition.com. Good luck!

Have you tried liquid protein drops with your water intake? Be sure to check with your Dr. first.

First of all drinking with your meals will hurt you in the long run. You will not loose as good and you will set yourself up for failure and that will bring you back to where you were before. Try not to drink for 1/2 hour or 45 minutes after you eat. Try " Isopure" protein drink and mix it with lactaid milk. It cost alot but you onlu use one scoop so it last twice as long.So you get 25gms from the isopure and 8 from the milk which gives you 33gms just from one 8 ounce good tasting drink. Try it. Janet

You can not drink and eat at the same time because water fills you up and then you will not even get enough food in your system nevermind the protein. I am not getting enough protein either but am trying.
